First dates are almost never relaxing and fun because so much can go wrong.
You can never count on making a love connection the first time out of the gate. The best you can hope for is that the failure doesn't cost you too much time or money.
Here are some ways to figure that out quickly -- some first date red flags that let you know you're definitely looking for love in all the wrong places. If you see your date acting like this, you'll want to run -- not walk -- to the exit:
The Baby-Talker -- She's got pet names for everyone (including you) and she stops in public to admire every toddler or puppy you pass.
The Virgin -- She gets nervous and changes the subject if you bring up anything vaguely sexual.
The One with Daddy Issues -- She refuses to talk about her parents' divorce, even though it happened a decade ago and pretends to be disgusted by the idea of "marriage" or "commitment."
The Serial Dater -- It might be your first date, but it's her second or third date... of the night. She's either looking for a perfect "Mr. Right" or she's trying to score as many free drinks and meals as possible.
The Gold Digger -- She spends most of the time trying to figure out what you drive, where you live and how much you earn.
